A New Chapter

When One Door Closes Another Opens

Alexander Graham Bell

Life is an unpredictable abundance of energy, takes many twists and turns, and may throw you off course. Dissatisfaction in one’s career, the ending of a relationship, an illness, or going numb through the motions of everyday life are just a few examples. When these occurrences pop-up it is a time to reevaluate and course correct.

Take stock in what is working and expand upon these positive attribute, actions and activities. Find your passion and script your ideal life. Here are a few ideas to reduce stress and start the process. Try one on for size and see if it sticks…..

  • Start a morning routine
    • Meditate
    • Walk
    • Journaling
  • Awaken your Creative Side
    • Paint
    • Draw
    • Color a Mandala
    • Write poetry

The trick is to quiet the mind and start to dream of possibilities. Have a clear vision, take the desired measured steps, and create a new outcome.

Nature

In all things of nature, there is something of the marvelous.

Aristotle

Today is Earth Day ~ Let’s celebrate nature, balance and being present. Go outside now and reap the benefits of nature. Close your eyes, take three deep breaths, open them and see how crisp and clear the surrounds look with a new perspective. The grass appears greener, observe a new focus as if all plants and animals pop into place. Mountains, vistas, ocean views feel like you are viewing them through binoculars. Spending time in nature can help to reduce stress, relieve anxiety, bring feelings of happiness and a sense of well-being. It is available to everyone; all one needs to do is step outside.

Road Map to Life

Close your eyes, take a deep breath and dream. The first step in co-creating your life is a clear vision. Bring in the senses: What does it look like? Who is accompanying you on this journey? What smells invite memories and peace? Does the sounds of nature inspire and release tension? What are your favorite foods…memories of home or travels abroad? How do you feel?

Hope is a waking dream.

Winter Solstice

Many ancient cultures marked time by solstices and equinoxes. The winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, celebrates the return of the sun, new beginnings, and hope. The Incas, at Machu Picchu, are renowned for their astronomical buildings. Thousands travel annually to Stonehenge for a unique opportunity to gather within the circle and welcome the light. Whether you are traveling the world or in your own backyard – the winter solstice is an opportunity for self evaluation.

New Year’s Eve

Individuals make New Year’s resolutions; but many break their promises by the end of January.
